Nexus One versus the iPhone
January 11th, 2010 by Geoff
The Cold War between East and West almost brought the world to the brink, however from the ashes of this silent war came a number of amazing technological advancements, none of which have impacted the modern world as much as the Internet. Today a new ‘Corporate Cold War’ is raging and two of its major players, Google and Apple, are going head to head in a technological ‘arms race’.
Apple stole the limelight first in 2002 by releasing the IPhone with its bespoke Apple OS (operating system), soon followed by the Google HTC Phone with its Android OS (operating system). Over the last six years the battle heated up significantly with new upgrades, applications and services being released on an almost daily basis.
With the rumoured released of Apples new ITablet at the end of January it would seem Google are keen to strike the first blow in 2010 by unveiling the Nexus One. Similar in size and functionality the Nexus One would appear to be a direct rival to the IPhone. Rumours are that the Nexus One has a slightly higher resolution screen, a better quality camera with flash and a wealth of new applications in development. The only downside currently muted is the Nexus One inability to connect with ITunes, which may well deter the more hardened IPhone supporters.
Today Google is holding a press conference in Mountain View, California and the rumours are at fever pitch that the much talked about Nexus One will be unveiled to the world. Let the battle begin.
