With the recent implications in which Google Caffeine has brought about in terms of how sites are going to be measured in the rankings can you really afford to not have a blog on your site?
There has been recent speculation that the proposed new search algorithm for Google (Google Caffeine) may or may not be already live on the world wide web. One of the key areas which Google will be looking for is how often a site updates itself with new fresh content. One of the best ways in terms of Search Engine Optimisation is to install a blog onto your site and post as many blogs as you can about relevant topics/news within your industry. To then gain more of the attention of Google it is a good idea to then post snippets of your most recent blogs on your homepage so that the content on your homepage is kept up to date.
But how often should you do this and does your company have the resource to put the man hours in for writing blogs?
This will be a key factor in getting this right, each blog needs to be at least 250 words long and ideally you will need 1 blog post per day so that you attract the attention of Google every day. Most companies don’t have the time to implement this but can you afford to not update the content on your site in order to keep yourself in the high positions on Google?
