Content is still King in white hat SEO

This is a follow up to my last blog on content, as people still haven’t got the message! Although it’s only estimated that 10 to 20 % of blogs actually get read by humans the important factor is they get read daily by Google and Yahoo if you’re doing them right. So I will say it again, daily updated blogs are a great strategy to get the rankings you deserve, and with all the free systems such as Word Press with simple setup there are no excuses. On that note I’m going to give out a few pointers on writing a successful daily blog.1) Investigate your topic. Sign up to Google Alerts based on your selected keywords. This will allow you to keep up with latest new in your select industry and incorporate what you read into your blogs. I don’t mean just duplicate what you read, as duplicate content is very bad. Try to put you own spin on it using your knowledge of the business.
2) Use at least one of your keywords in the title. This boosts your keyword density and specifies to the search engines the area you are targeting.
3) Imagery – don’t go mad on this, but include an image or two that will attract user attention to your blog and make it less daunting to a user than line after line of text.
4) Don’t bury your blog to deep in your website hierarchy. I would go so far as to say have snippets of your latest blog on your homepage, with read more links to the whole article. This will boost keyword density on your homepage and allow the search engines to spider your latest blog more quickly.
5) Have an up to date Ping list, this allows you to automatically inform the blog and directories that your site has new content and to read it. Word Press comes with a ping list built in, there is also pingomatic.com if you’re not using Word Press.
There are some tips so there no reason that you can’t start getting better ranking though the use of a daily blog.
