Search Engine Optimisation, Sooner or Later?
November 26th, 2007 by Nick
Many times I have discussed marketing with business owners who want to promote there website using Search Engine Optimisation, and have been told they are considering this form of marketing and have been for sometime. My next question is why, have you ever heard of the phrase “time is money”, well its true, especially when it comes to SEO.
Search Engine Optimisation is a long process, you cannot start a project and expect listings within minutes, this is what Pay Per Click Marketing is for, enter your keywords and generate traffic straight away.
I hear you ask, why sooner than later? Well the answer is simple, Online Marketing is becoming more and more competitive, more and more companies are investing in this form of advertising, and the question you have to ask yourself is how quickly would you be ranked if your project started to day over the course of a year, compared to starting say in one years time, well it is simple, your rankings will be established and growing after a period of 1 year, and within that time you may have another million web pages to get past within the Organic Search results before you get a ranking that will generate you traffic.
Remember, start SEO sooner than later, use a good agency with proven results and slowly break into the Natural Rankings and then build on positions using traffic driving keywords.
SEO is all about authority, and authority takes time, you don’t suddenly become the most authoritative person in a Job or Country overnight, so why would you when it comes to rankings within search engines? The answer is you wont.
I have seen some clients who started projects with SEOConsult some time ago and comment “what would they do now without it†due to the traffic and revenue that comes with good organic listings.
