Where did all the PR10′s go?
February 1st, 2008 by Nick
Only a year ago it was easy to find a PR10 site and you would even occasionally stumble upon one. Now though it appears that Google has made PageRank10 an elusive group that only an elte group handpicked by themselves is aloud in. I recently heard a rumour that there are only actually 10 websites that have a PR10 although I believe this to be a fabrication.
A PR10 is any SEO’s holy grail, you dream of one day waking up to a Google Page Rank update and your new site has reached the dizzy heights of PR4, but PR10 only exists in a dream world!
There is no site that automatically gets granted access to PR10dom, bar the exception of one! Characteristics of a PR10 site will usually require the following; Being highly regarded in not only their chosen field of service, but as a worldwide source of knowledge and reputation. Examples of this are .Gov (Government) and .ed (Educational) sites but a lot of them have now dropped down. More recently I discovered that Nasa one of the original PR10’s has dropped down to a lowly PR8! Similarly a site I almost guaranteed to have a 10 is Wikipedia, and although it hasn’t at the moment I’m pretty sure it will have in the coming year.
So I challenge you the reader to find the magic 10, PR10 websites. I have wracked my brain to find as many as I can without cheating doing a Google search and here is all I could come up with!
1. Google.com
2. Adobe.com
3. W3C Validator
4. Apple.com
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
And some that didn’t make it.
1. Microsoft.com
2. Sun.com
3. Nasa.gov
4. IBM.com
5. Wikipedia
See if you can get anymore now.
