Search Engine Optimisation That Attracts The Right Traffic

Many people assume the bigger the crowd the greater the website, and the better the business. This isn’t an accurate statement. In fact some say the biggest cause of the dot com crash was in fact that everyone was too focused on the wrong numbers. It is possible to create a website with absolutely nothing worth mentioning and still get a thousand hits a week.
The challenge in this environment is to get the right users coming to your website. You don’t want a thousand people who have been tricked you unintentionally diverted to your website. It would be better to have ten people visiting your website who where actually trying to find your site or the product you sell.
So the real purpose behind Search Engine Optimisation is not to increase your hit rate, it’s to increase you conversion rate and to attract the right users to your site. The concept isn’t alien to the business world, and the idea is simple. You want the people who need apples (the fruit), to come to your apple store, the people looking for software to go to software related websites etc. Therefore the ground breaking concept is to give the users what they need!
That was simplified but in reality one website need to be a lot more accurate, in that if one is looking to higher out cars, your cant be attracting users looking to buy second hand vehicles. So it sounds simpler at fist but as you progress to the end goal one realizes it’s significantly more problematic. It for that reason that to truly Search Engine Optimize a Website is not done over night and it is actually a really skilled job. In fact it can be an all day job if done correctly.
The key is to say active on the net. The website is not going to be found unless you show people the way. The maintenance of the website is not limited to keeping the adverts up to date and fixing the glitches and altering the website to better suit the new algorithm Google has just launched. It involves getting your websites name out there. Not necessarily through the conventional methods of advertising but by being active in forums and blog discussions.
Write a blog, write on others blogs, and find theme Related Blogs and link them the tasks are endless. But in the end they are all beneficial. Insure that your blog is well linked, that is not to say that you link everything, merely be specific and only link where it is applicable.
Keywords, ironically has become the keyword in many people’s minds regarding Search Engine Optimisation. Yes keywords are important and placement of headings and meta-tags are the foundations to any strategy but it is very important to research thoroughly Appropriate Keywords for the specific type of user you want to attract to your website. The blanket approach will never work when it comes to keywords, one needs to be very specific and focus on selected keywords to optimise.
