Free Internet Marketing Using Web Feeds and Social Bookmarking

Ok, you have just posted an interest new article on your site, but how do you market it to the rest of the world. Answer, get your users to do it for you via Web Feeds.
If this concept is new to you come in out of the cold and warm yourself by the fire. Web feeds dispense frequently updated content over the web automatically in a non graphical format using XML. These are picked up by users that subscribe to that feed via an RSS reader or an Atom reader, both of which do the same job just in different formats.
An example of where feeds are used are Web-blogs, pod casts, news websites etc. A good example is BBC news feed update and reader with the latest news as it happens. Web feeds also allow for other websites to display your feed giving your site link equity.
Today RSS readers are provided by most internet browsers, the one I would recommended is the Google reader.
Social bookmarking goes hand in hand with web feeds, allowing the user to bookmark (save links to web pages) that they want to remember remotely so it can be accessed from any location. These can be private but are most often public thus allow user to look at other users bookmarks were they reflect the topic of interest. Many bookmark sites also allow for the bookmark to be rated on relevance and interest, generating awareness from other users to a particular site thus generating more link equity to your site, whilst gaining more traffic.
To conclude Web feeds and Social bookmarking are of great advantage to a site because they get your user to market your site for you.
