When it comes to thriving search engine optimisation there are no easy shortcuts, no quick recipes for success and definitely no one minute plans. In fact, there are no guarantees, but hard work and a general Search Engine Optimisation understanding will get you on the right path.
Search engine optimizing requires thorough planning and part of this planning should include a strategy for incoming links.
It’s like a pie made up of several slices – one slice is your content, another is your website structure and usability, another the use of key words, and finally a portion is your network of Incoming Links. All these pieces should synchronise and work in tandem towards Search Engine Optimisation.
Increasing your links:
• According to Google, to ensure it finds your site during a search it helps significantly if your web pages are linked from various other sites. The more site you’re linked to the more change Google will have of finding you faster as it trawls through hyperlinks.
• Online business directories and related community or industry sites are an ideal place to add links to your website. There are many business directories that allow free link referrals. This method generates organic traffic to your site – meaning traffic that is likely to become business leads.
• Taking part in forums relevant to your website is another way to boost incoming links. Use your url as your signature. Be cautious of which websites you place incoming links – spamming websites could adversely affect your Search Engine Optimisation results.
• Develop partnerships with relevant high-value websites and discuss sharing links on each of your sites to optimise SEO
• Having an incoming link on a high-value and top ranking website is more effective than placing your incoming links across many irrelevant website. This is know as creating ‘link farms’, Once search engines becomes aware of this you could damage your site validity in Search Engine Optimisation.
• Set up your Link Text with a keyword that’s relevant to your company – rather than your company name.
• Always divert your links to the relevant page instead of simply routing them all back to your homepage. Asses where you’re placing your incoming links and name then appropriately while ensuring they land on the right page of your website. This makes it much easier for the consumer to find the product or service they’re looking for.
• Link to trusted sites – an incoming link from a trusted website is generally acknowledged by search engines. Links on trusted sites are therefore accepted as more valuable and from a trustworthy source.
