Can press releases affect SEO and brand image?

Public Relations has traditionally been associated with branding and has been used extensively by large companies as a tool to increase image, increase customer awareness and increase sales.  It is still part of the arsenal used by very large corporate companies such as Microsoft and Apple. Even they still need brand recognition because they face competition at every turn and because of this must keep making sure that their customers are buying their product.

Customers buy what they are offered; they don’t buy something they can’t see.  Each company has to ensure they keep taking their offerings into the market place.  Public Relations should never stop because customers are always willing to buy, if they don’t buy from you, they will buy from your competitor.  What is worse, when they find out you have a product they would rather have and that you kept it ‘secret’, they can get a little out of sorts and you may have lose an important customer.

The benefits of online Press Releases

Is your company benefiting from up to date press releases about your product?  One form of a press release is a newsletter.  They are easy to publish on literally thousands of online sources.  They help you reach millions of people who just might be looking for your product, or who are waiting for your next release.

Online PR’s have the benefit of aiding SEO and in the process your popularity.  Ideally they should not be less than 700 words and not more than 1000 words.  Some can be shorter, but nothing worth noting can be stuffed into an article that is less than 400 words.

One very appealing press release which benefits SEO is are those which target text links back to your site.  While they increase the Backlinks to your site, they also increase your popularity.  They are a great way to build incoming links which are relevant and as they are published in thousands of online sources, have the potential to create hundreds of them.

Branding

The more that is published about our company offsite, the more people will read about you and the easier it will be for them to find you.  Online press releases also help though as it offers your customers the information first.  This builds trust while promoting brand awareness.  The more this is done the more chance you have of attracting new customers, keeping your existing customers and luring old customers back again.

B2B and Consumer Reaction and Interactions both benefit from press releases.  If you are offering B2B online press releases are a must and you can be assured that your competition are also using them.  Strong and persistent Public Relation messages work best for B2B.  They are best when syndicated every three months.

Consumer Reaction and Interaction engages with your consumers through a form of conversation within online communities which themselves are an essential part of Pubic relations.  In the form of an online press release they allow you to receive feedback from your consumers.  If they are searching for your type of services they will ultimately find your company this way, so it is imperative that you portray your company and your products in a professional manner which assures people that they are doing business with someone who knows what they are doing.  Your message must be in line with your product offerings, services and practices though.
