Search Engines and The Web

September 24th, 2009 by

Search engines have become the gatekeepers of the cyber world, without them, you would never find what you were looking for and more to the point customers would never find you. The simple realisation is that search engines were and essential aspect of the web but there are companies that have become far more then just a search engine. Google is a insanely phenomenal company, which has become probably the worlds more recognisable or well known brand without ever paying for a television commercial, not one magazine advert, no big billboard, practically no conventional marketing what so ever.

Yet I find myself astonished at how prolific Google truly is. For the uneducated Google is just a search engine, but for anyone who takes the time to venture further they will know that there is practically a world of Google products out there and most of them are there to be used by the consumer to better there own business.

How to by Google

If you needed an example to replicate to improve web presence it should be Google, they have repeat customer, they are easy to find, easy to use and are always innovating and improving. This is a simple blue print for any company wanting to know the secret of search engine optimisation. Its not just about the result, its about building your company’s name on the net, its about building relationships with your customers, its about continually review your accomplishments got the simple sack of surpassing them.

SEO is essential for any company to achieve and maintain a good web based business. Search engines like Yahoo and Google, tell us what they look for, how they want websites designed and yet people still prefer to waste time, money and effort on other less ethical methods to achieving a result.

A short-lived result

The choices are simple when it comes to search engine optimisation, one can choose to take the time, do the research, plan to accommodate all the requirements of a good website and a good off site marketing strategy, or you can choose to believe on of the million get there quick companies. They will charge you a hefty amount of money to get you a result, and they may very likely get you a real search engine ranking on the first page of results, but it will be short lived.

There are hundreds of smart, really well educated individuals who’s sole purpose is discovering the loop holes of search engine optimisation and closing them. So when that loop hole is closed you will be left without a result, as cutting corners will never result in a long top page ranking. Any users that have been tricked to get to your site won’t stay long, won’t buy anything and won’t remember the site the next day. So take the time, make the site worth visiting and after that keep it up, continue to work at it, always changing, always improving it and its content.
