Understanding SEO

In order to appreciate Search Engine Optimisation one has to fully understand what search engine optimisation is and how it is applied to a website. A simple technique, SEO is basically a process of improving traffic flow to a website via search engines search results.

SEO and ranking

This internet marketing tool targets all types of searches and usually the earlier ones website appears on a Search Engine Results Page, the higher its rank and the greater its chance of being visited by searchers.

As wonderful as the technique sounds, the reality is that not all websites can be ranked highest, but by applying an SEO correctly to your website, you will be sure to have a good chance at the top spots. SEO not only considers what people are searching for but also how search engines operate.

Adjustment of a website to incorporate SEO

To use an SEO campaign and be a head in your field, optimising your website will involve changes to the design and structure of your site. Adjusting will have to be made to its HTML source coding as well as the content of your website.

In an SEO campaign, keywords play a huge role, so the purpose of these changes is to increase your websites relevance to certain keywords. Therefore, a great amount of Keyword Research is required and your site may have to be changed to include these keywords on all its pages.
