Big Online Media Agency Drops From The Google Rankings
May 12th, 2009 by Dan
As Experts in our field, we watch our competition like a hawk, recently we have seen our SEO brand SEO Consult improve in the organic results, this is due to our authority and expertise in this field, the search engines displays our results in prominent positions because of the relevance we provide to searchers.
However, today we noticed one of our positions move up by 1 in Google.co.uk, why? well who has dropped, or more like who has dropped out, after some investigation the website in question does not seem to appear for any top listings and indeed seems to be suffering a penalty or removal from the Google listings and the home page “page rank†has gone to 0.
How can this happen? Well only Google have the answers, but to receive such penalty could result from a number of reasons, all of which could be concerning, especially when the agency displays so many blue chips as clients it does make you wonder, if such a penalty is applied to there own site, what would happen if the methods that resulted in the penalty were applied to a clients site and for example 35,000 organic visits a day were to disappear.
Makes you wonder doesn’t it…….
Our suggestion at SEO Consult is to select your SEO partner wisely and carefully.

I think you are referring to Big Mouth Media, they seem to have gone from there major terms, anyone know what has happend?
The Big Mouth Media site does seem to be under penalty for some reason, however it is just the home page of bigmouthmedia that is not cached, sub pages seem to be, however they were ranked for some big keywords such as search engine optimisation which has gone, there are some posts that suggest this happend to them in 2006, but for a similar situation to happen in 2009 is strange, I would look forward to someone telling me what bigmouthmedia have done to upset Google?
We will probably never find out as with most things that Google does (especially with regards to websites being banned/removed from rankings). It also appears that they have lost their page rank, which means that this will be some form of manual penalty/review. For a multi-national company who pride themselves on being one of the biggest SEO agencies, it doesn’t look too good on Big Mouth Media. They should release a blog or statement to explain what may have happened before someone else does.
I must say it is strange that many questions are being asked though, yet knowone really has the answers…..
This surely has to be a big blow for big mouth media, I guess the things is how long before there rankings come back? this surely has to show you the power of Google, if you do not follow there policies they have the power to remove listings and there is nothing anyone can do about it
I noticed this over the weekend, first thoughts were that this was probably a technical issue with their site rather than a penalty although I would have expected them to come back in by now. http://www.sitevisibility.co.uk/blog/?p=316
