Does Your Testimonial Page Feature A Range Of Feedback?

Testimonial pages are currently popular with online consumers and so more and more business websites are beginning to feature web pages of this kind. When shopping online, a lot of searchers want to find as much information as possible about a company before agreeing to become a customer and a testimonial page can feature a lot of information of value. A lot of positive feedback from previous customers can be extremely reassuring and can help a company to make a sale by providing potential customers with useful information and building trust and respect at the same time.

However, as site owners are aware of this and know many of those which visit the testimonial page of their website are doing so for reassurance, they only include positive feedback and leave out any negative comments they have received. This is a huge mistake which can have significant consequences.

When running an online business, it is impossible to always please every customer. From time to time things will go wrong and the business will not always run smoothly. The result is that any business has some dissatisfied customers who have issues of some kind. Online shoppers are aware of this and therefore if there is not any mediocre or negative feedback included in the testimonial page of a website, will begin to doubt how honest the company is actually being with the feedback they put on display.

A testimonial page can build a lot of trust and respect for a business but if it does not seem the company is being honest with its visitors because certain information is being withheld, this will have the opposite effect. You must show your business is genuinely capable and competent. If you manipulate your testimonial page so it only features positive feedback those which visit it will begin to wonder what you have to hide and what sort of company you are really running. Only honest and genuine testimonials will work effectively for your business.

Don’t be frightened to include the occasional negative testimonial on your web pages but do be prepared to address any issues raised. Write a response to negative comments made by previous customers and handle any issues professionally. If you have made a mistake offer an explanation and let others know what you have done to ensure this problem does not occur again in the future. Everyone makes mistakes but letting your target audience know you acknowledge problems, handle them accordingly and work towards stopping them happening again can work in your favour.
