Key Elements To Spend Your Money On When Opting For Search Engine Optimization

December 19th, 2008 by

Paid Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO is one of the most popular forms of Internet marketing. Often people have the misconception that this form of Internet marketing is free. However, this is often not the case. According to research, it has been found that paid search generally out competes natural searches.

This is because such a campaign takes a lot of work before results start to show, and even once it starts to show, it requires a lot of work to maintain the ranking. Thus, one of the main reasons why SEO’s are costly is because if you want your site to be successful, the manpower involved to reach this is likely to be large.

Another reason why natural searches do worse than paid searches is because the ranking is based on luck rather than the technicalities of algorithms. Thus, natural searches are uncertain and risky resulting in an unstable business. Hence, if you are serious about your business, consider paying the professionals for their skills.

SEO team

Your SEO team may be in-house or it can be a firm or contractor. Regardless of which, generally the team consists of web designers, copywriters, project managers, IT team and other SEO specialists.

Since the point is to obtain as much web traffic for the website as possible, thus the key elements on which your money would be spent are ways in which your team try to achieve this goal. This will include their time and effort in addition to the other technical services required.

Various aspects that your team covers

Two important aspects include links and keywords. Link popularity is by placing web links of your site at the right places on other people’s sites (usually paid) so that they may be directed to your site. Keywords are important in two ways:  is so that they can be used in the website’s contents and so that they may assist in pay per click advertising which are often used in conjunction with SEO’s.

Since keywords are important, there are people that aid in searching for popular keywords used by the searchers so that you may used these keywords to your advantage. A lot of manpower is required here considering that the world of keywords is constantly changing so updating is often required.

Thus, once a business is relatively established, much of the money is spent on maintenance so that the web traffic is not lost, which often is the case once paying stops.

Keywords are often embedded in the website contents in the form of informative articles and business blogs to increase keyword usage that will ultimately lead to a better rating. Thus, copywriters and bloggers are necessary to write these articles.

Finally, another point about keywords is the importance of meta tags which need to be optimized. These include HTML codes and can be optimized by web designers so that proper website indexing by search engine spiders can be achieved.
