One of the most difficult things with online marketing and shops online is that lack of human interaction. Human interaction is very important for the consumer because it is the way they can evaluate you and your business. Eye contact, body language and general etiquette can win your shopper’s heart.  First impressions count in most aspects of life and business is certainly no exception.

With that being said, most of the above mentioned techniques are not transferable to an online marketing campaign. The solution to this lies in customer feedback, testimonials and most importantly your website content and presentation. Making that all important first impression can be done online just as it can in person.

Websites must be professional and the content must be valuable to catch the consumer’s attention. It is all well and good having a perfectly optimised website which gets greats listings in search engine results pages, but if your website looks cheap and nasty, or the content is useless, visitors will not hang around long enough to become customers.

Visitors to your website may not always buy the first time round, but provided that your website is updated regularly and your responses to queries are fast, their confidence in your business will grow and eventually stand a great chance of winning them over.

SEO- the traffic issue

Despite the aim of SEO to improve your page rank and increase the traffic flow to your website, it is only valuable to you if the traffic is of value. Thus, it is important to aim for targeted traffic through your SEO campaign by opting for targeting keywords and phrases, which your target market will use.

Furthermore, ensure to have safe and easy payment solutions online. Since they are online shoppers it is unlikely that they will be please to go to the bank and make a deposit. Finally, the best way to win the consumer’s heart is through giving valuable content and advice and of course – a great products and services!
