We all know that spamdexing doesn't pay. However spamdexing is quite extreme and as with most things in life, there are 10 shades of grey between White (Hat) and Black (Hat). With ever-changing search engine goalposts (also known as algorithms) then it if difficult to keep up however ethical or unethical your techniques. The only real answer is to stay up to date with search engine developments and gain as much experience as possible.
