Search Engine Optimisation – The Choice To Keep it Natural

July 29th, 2009 by

Many debates surround the topic of organic SEO and inorganic Search engine optimisation. While the main aim of search engine optimisation remains to have high ranking and gain as much traffic as possible, the way one goes about achieving this is often not an easy decision.

Organic search engine optimisation is basically the process of naturally allowing for your SEO campaign to bring in traffic. On the other hand, an inorganic technique involves paying other website owners to have links placed to your site on theirs. This is referred to as sponsored links.

Sponsored links are not always such a good idea

Many people are drawn to using sponsored links when applying their SEO campaigns mainly because it takes less time to achieve great ranking than organic search engine optimisation does. While this may be true, there are a couple of downsides to using sponsored links.

Search engine optimisation is relatively a cheap form of internet marketing and in some cases is even free. Making use of sponsored links can however be an expensive thing. Considering that you are required to pay for the ad space for your link to appear, it may be way over budget for some. For a company that does not wish to spend a lot of money, it is be best to stay natural. Besides, once you cannot afford to pay for this ad space anymore, you loose the space completely and it is likely that it will be rented by your competitors.

Why choose organic search engine optimisation?

Internet users often trust organic listing as opposed to inorganic listings. Whether it is to look up information or make transactions on a site, they do not like using sponsored links. This is a benefit to you if you make use of natural search engine optimisation. Relying on this, your chances of receiving more traffic is increased and you would not have wasted money on renting unnecessary ad space.

So now what?

After evaluating the two types of search engine optimisation campaigns, it is clear to see that organic SEO is more beneficial in the long run. Sure it will take your website longer to reach top ranking, but in the end it is much cheaper than making use of sponsored link. The cost is minimum and in certain situations, even free.

Due to its consistency, organic search engine optimisation’s ranking lasts far longer than sponsored links. Sponsored links can be very inconsistent. The deal these sponsored links is that high ranking only benefits you as long as you pay.

The internet user is ultimately the people who you aim to please. You want them to feel safe and comfortable when using your website. Seeing that the use of sponsored links is sceptically viewed by internet users, they might not even bother to use your site at all. This is another reason to make use of organic listings. You are more certain of gaining traffic than with the use of inorganic search engine optimisation tools.
