The reasoning behind creating a website is to market and promote your product, the success of your website depends on this, so it stands to reason that you have to understand your market, who your clients will be and who your competitors are. This is basic information which makes a huge impact in the end. Analysing your market is something you have to do if you want to identify your potential to make profits off your website. Market Analysis also highlights your competitors and will give you some idea of the difficulties you may have to face down the road, should you decide to go ahead with your site.

Finding the right audience for your product and getting them to buy off your website entails a fair bit of work to get them in the first place

There are ways of finding out this information of course, but making full use of SEO is key.

Basics

If you have launched your website without doing any market analysis first it may fail, but it can be fixed. Quite often web designers are held accountable for failure, but you need to understand that they are designers and are not responsible for understanding your market and your business practice.

Before you can fix your site’s problems questions have to asked first. One question worth asking is who out of your competitor’s ranks top and why they rank top, what are they doing that you are not. How does your Site Rank beside them and what can be done to get your site ranked so that you are in a position to compete against them.

Other questions should be in the line of why your site is not attracting sales and why your site is not being picked up by search engines.

So, basically, you have to understand your competitor’s position in the market compared to your own position. You need to know what the strengths and weaknesses are on your site and what you have to accomplish in order to climb the ladder of internet success.

Reports

SEO Reports are tools which are crucial and invaluable to you if you want to see a picture of what is happening around your site, they analyse the internal factors which are affecting your website, in priority which show your site’s problem areas. They will provide you with detailed descriptions of what the detrimental factors are in each area of your site plus they provide you with the steps you need to take so that you can improve these areas. They are the help you need to get on that first rung of the ladder.

What they also give you is information on who your real competitors are. Reports will illustrate the best keywords of key phrases you should use in order to target your product and attract visitors. They will show how far you are ranked from other top competitors.

So, in essence, statistics shown in the form of reports are your market analysis and will help form your marketing plan which will inevitably put your site in the top rankings and become the basis of SEO.
