SEO: Is Anyone Reading Your Blog?

A blog can be an effective way to communicate with your target audience. It can provide others with relevant and useful information about your business and direct traffic to your website.

Blogs are commonly used in SEO campaigns because of the many benefits they offer. However, blogs are only useful for businesses if others actually take the time to read what they have written or link to it.

If a business owner wants to communicate with their target audience, they must find a way to make their information appealing and interesting. Information provided has to be relevant to them and must be written in a way so they can quickly understand the messages within the content.

If you are using a blog as part of your SEO campaign, you must monitor its performance to see if it is working effectively. You need to find out if others are reading it or linking to it.

A great signifier of a successful blog is the comments made on the blog by other readers. If your blog has numerous comments related to your posts, this shows others are not only reading it but are so interested and engaged that they too want to contribute. You should always be encouraging others to leave comments so they know this acceptable.

If your blog does receive comments take some time to read what these comments say. Read what others like and dislike about what you have written and try to identify what they really find interesting. If your blog has many comments, you are using your blog effectively.

You also need to monitor how often your blog is being visited. Track the number of times your blog page is visited and keep a note of the figures. From this information, try to identify when others are most likely to visit your blog and why.

It can also be hugely beneficial to find out how many others are linking to your blog. If others are linking to your blog page, you should know about it. If another web page has a link to your blog, this can help direct traffic and new readers. It is a compliment for others to link to your blog and is useful for search engine optimisation.

It is also advantageous to monitor how much traffic to your website is coming directly from your blog. This information can signify how well your blog is doing in the promotion of your business. If you are providing your readers with useful and interesting content, they will be likely to visit your website and explore your business further. If you are not providing them with content of this kind, they will not likely have any further interest in your company.

Writing for your blog is of utmost importance but monitoring its success and performance is also highly significant.
