Landing pages and Search Engine Optimisation

Your landing page is all too important to your website’s success for you to chance neglecting it even slightly. Just as you need to be multifaceted in order to make it in a dog eat dog job market, so too does your landing page need to be able to multitask and be multifaceted. Creating a successful landing page means creating a page that competently and confidently expresses your website’s message and goals. In order to make sure that your website contains good Quality Content you need effective landing pages.

You are not your clients and as such you may think things important to your website that your clients may think otherwise about. This is why it is incredibly important to put yourself in your clients’ shoes and try to see your website and individual web pages through their eyes. This means knowing what they want, why they came to your website in the first place and giving it to them.

Your landing page needs to let your customer know that they came to the right place and it needs to hold their attention by telling them what you can and will do for them. Your ultimate goal with your Landing Page is to illicit a response from your web customers that will get you ever closer to your business goals. This means that your landing page should stimulate your customers to generate sales and profits for your business.

Getting it right for you and your customers

As with anything, when it comes to landing pages there are a few key error areas that many consistently get wrong. Getting anything on your landing page wrong is a huge risk to your entire website’s profitability. Getting it right with your landing pages works for you just as much as for your customers, if not even more. The first thing that you should ensure your landing page does is to captivate and keep your customer’s attention. Your customer need to easily and quickly be able to identify why your website will be the most convenient for them to use.

You should include a complete sales process from start to finish in an uncomplicated and easy to digest manner, which prompts your customer to take action, not by leaving but rather by creating a sale for you. Your landing page needs to be new-user-friendly. This means no technical jargon, easy to swallow explanations and a layout, information and graphics aimed at your new customers. Your existing customers know what you are about, but it is the new customers that need convincing. Your landing page has to do that for you like a virtual sales person.

The biggest advantage of having a superb landing page is that you will undoubtedly subscribe to Search Engine Optimisation and this will boost your ratings on the results pages of search engine searches. Boosting your ranking means that your website will be more visible to a wider target audience and the more visible you are and the better your landing page, the more customers you will pull in.
