What makes a great link bait? Paris Hilton loved by SEO’s

First of all I’m going to give the newcomers a quick explation of what link baiting actually is. For those who already know then hold on and we will get to the good bit soon. Link baiting is the art of content writing on your site, normally through a blog which will encourage other sites to link to your content because in simple terms they believe it’s valuable.
Ok now we know what link baiting is, here are my tops five tips which make a good link baiting article.
1) Include a Celebrity name – there are some favourites, female celebrities normally work better than men, sorry Tom. A well used example of this, which still work I might add is “Paris Hilton ………………..â€
2) Make it on a topic which has a lot of exposure at the time of release, like the America title race has been a good one. From an SEO point of view, a good article to have written would be “Hilary Clinton uses internet market to get to votersâ€.
3) Top 10 lists are a great one, as everyone has their own opinion it will normal start up a lot of discussion from your readers and link from other sites that start up a debate.
4) Make it a bit controversial – don’t go overboard here as you don’t want to get sued or receive a disciplinary!
5) Post your article on a Thursday – more people are likely to read it as Friday is notoriously a slow day for everyone.
