Increase Site Authority by Using Links

Search engine optimization is by far no longer a new concept; it is no longer even a buzzword when you are in the business of setting up your own website. It has become run of the mill and everyday. The problem is that many people are starting to treat it as such and that is a huge mistake. There are literally millions of websites on the internet; each one is competing for a spot on the coveted first search results page.

However, there are only so many spots on that page. Thus competition for those spots is fierce and cutthroat. In order to be a strong competitor, you need to take your optimization seriously.

You cannot afford to neglect it in any way and you need to constantly work on it to improve on yesterday’s tactics. One of the ways in which you can increase your rank is through link building. However, link building requires a lot of dedication and work, especially organic link building.

Links through blogs

Now, it is true that you can generate links through having a business blog. However, you can help your link building along in another way too. You can browse the blogosphere and find blogs that have something in common with yours, are opposite to your or that you find interesting.

Leave comments on these other blogs and wait for the links to come rolling in from the comments you left. It is important to leave tactful, tasteful comments so that you add to your business image and don’t detract from your credibility. Don’t start fights and don’t criticize harshly if the blog opposes what you have on yours.

Press releases and articles

Press releases and articles are not identical but they have a similar effect on your optimization and your SERP rank. The more quality articles you submit to article directories, the more inbound links you will be creating. You will also be increasing your traffic as people who like the articles you submit will follow the links back to your website. The same goes for press releases.

They are great for valuable link building, but that is not all. Press releases are also great for spreading the word about events and launches or just reminding people that your business is still there. The link value from articles and press releases may not be heavy, but they do count. What is even better is that it promotes organic link building.

Website owners who come across your press releases and articles and like them are more likely to link to your website. They are more likely to find out about your website on these directories than anywhere else.

Social media has taken over the world and continues to dominate the lives of so many people everywhere. Using social media for link building is one of the smartest things that you can do for your business website. What you need to understand is that social media is like one huge grapevine and spreading the world about your great website is easy. Spreading the word increases the likelihood of valuable organic links from other websites.
