Google can do the math

If you were waiting for the next installment of “Tools for internet marketing and SEO” ; I will post this on Monday, for today I thought we would have a Friday type blog, as I am sure we have all had a hard week. So back to the blog “Google can do the math’s”. As an SEO I work with Google day in and day out, and I thought I would show you some of it’s less well known functionalities and search functions that make it a world leader.
All these can be typed in to the Google query bar. First off, type 179 + 6 into Google, yes that’s right, Google’s query bar can be used as a calculator and accepts all these functions; addition “+” subtraction “-” multiplication “*” division “/” and percentage “%”.
The next one is flight time. Just type in your flight number and Google will give you the exact departure time.
Next try “1000 USD to GBP”, this is useful to find out whether the internet café you’re using abroad is ripping you off, yes you guess Google does currency conversion.
Here’s a good one for SEO to find directories to submit to, type in: “keyword “submit url”â€. This will bring you pages related to your keywords which have the word submit on the page. Please read my blog on linking before you go wild on this.
If you’re a high flying business man you can also check the stock market by typing in “stocks:Tescoâ€. There are plenty more and I’d love to hear if anyone’s found an obscure one to add to this list. Back to SEO and tools for the internet marketing on Monday.
