Outsourcing SEO is the logical thing to do

July 11th, 2009 by

Search engine optimisation is not unknown to most people. Any website owner, whether it is a business website or a personal or hobby website knows that SEO principles are involved in page ranking. What makes it complicated is that learning the principles of SEO can take a long time and the goal posts keep on changing with new developments.

On top of that there is a horrible amount of myths and misdirection about SEO floating about. It is therefore totally understandable that most entrepreneurs do not have the time to try and unravel the ‘mysteries’ of optimisation. That is why they prefer to outsource this part of their business to a highly skilled SEO company. An SEO company that provides more than the standard optimisation services through, for to get ahead and be successful you need unique SEO services.

Cost saving

A good SEO company has basically spent years finding which techniques work and which produce mediocre results. In a nutshell they have learned all the tricks of the trade. They can therefore bring you optimisation tactics of which they have ironed out all the bugs. They also have access to all the most up to date SEO software.

If you had to DIY your optimisation, you would have to spend quite a bit of money investing in such software. It is of course possible to DIY optimisation without any specialised software. The chance of succeeding is simply not very high. By outsourcing you save having to spend that money and at the same time have the benefits of the optimisation company’s expertise and all-round experience.

Too many factors

SEO is like a puzzle with a thousand pieces and each piece must fit exactly. Buying a DIY SEO book can never go into each aspect of optimisation in-depth. Add to this the fact that any books written a year ago will have outdated sections by now. Optimisation changes fast to keep up with new developments and trends. Keywords that were popular a month ago now has fallen by the wayside.

Link building has changed as the search engines change their criteria and algorithms. If you had to try to keep up with all of this, you would spend all your time on SEO and none in running your business.

Accountability

If you do your own SEO and you get it wrong, you can only try to kick yourself. This in itself is futile because you probably tried your very best, but you are an entrepreneur and not an optimiser. When you outsource your search engine optimisation campaign to a professional SEO company, they can be held accountable for the results and SEO solutions they provided. Part of optimisation is the tweaking of aspects of the website and SEO tactics.

A professional has the experience and knowledge to do that. This means if one tactic does not work well, they have the know how to switch tracks and fix it. This is also part of their accountability to their clients. So, the best solution all round is to run your business and let a professional do your SEO.
