Your Target Audiences will Determine the Direction of your SEO Campaign

Without traffic to your website, you may as well not have one at all. Getting people to your site is very important, but more important is that you get the correct audience to your site. This entails knowing what your audience wants and then steering your Website Optimization Campaign in that direction. Not understanding this can result in a weak campaign.
Some Things to Keep in Mind
So, you have narrowed down the audience you are targeting and you may think that you know the Best Keywords you want to rank for, but it is far more important that you know what keywords your target audience use.
At times the difference between the two can be vast and can lead your campaign in the wrong direction. But knowing the correct keyword/s may not be enough either, you still have to understand which keywords are realistically achievable, not only in the short term, but also mid and long term.
Even if you have an excellent product, a site which is easy to use and packed full of links, selecting the wrong keywords will waste your time, lose business and money, or at the least, prevent your business from performing at its best.
What are you Advertising?
To help you glean the keywords your audience use, it helps if you know who your site is geared toward in other words, who is likely to be interested in your product. For example, is your product available to a Global Audience, or only relevant to your country? This will ascertain which words your audience will use to search for, lets say, baby supplies. For instance, while someone from your country would use the word ‘nappy’, someone else would use the word ‘diaper’.
You need to know who, or what type of people you want to communicate with on your page, what tools or online services will help or entice them do business with you, i.e. how do they want to shop on the internet? Find out which sites they already frequent on the internet and what your targeted audiences all have in common with each other.
Remember that once you have chosen your keywords, they form the basis of your SEO Campaign, but it is also vital to keep ongoing analysis of our keyword rankings, as you may need to change them over time in order to keep your rankings high and ensure that your Website Optimization campaign remains successful.
Direction, Direction, Direction
Using questionnaires is obviously a good place to start as each everyone has a unique way of looking at things and everyone uses the internet differently, so answers gleaned from these questionnaires will go a long way toward helping you determine which direction you want to steer your website optimization Campaign.
Having a clear general outline of which type of audience you are targeting will help you compile more defined questionnaires and in doing so, the will help you identify the correct keywords needed to bring in your Targeted Audience.
